W. Max Hurley-Dorof

Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. W. Max Hurley-Dorof (he/him/his) is a graduate of the Professional Psychology Program at the George Washington University and returned as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Visiting Instructor. During his time in the program, he trained at various clinical sites including The George Washington University Hospital, The Washington DC VA Medical Center, and completed his pre-doctoral internship at the George Washington University Counseling and Psychological Services. He has previous research experience in behavioral psychopharmacology at McLean Hospital in Belmont, MA, with a focus on substance use and mood disorders. His clinical interests include group psychotherapy, identity development, grief and loss, and the LGBTQIA+ population. Dr. Hurley-Dorof’s role at the program includes: individual and group psychotherapy, supervision in both therapy and assessment, teaching an assessment practicum and therapy techniques course, and overall administration of the Center Clinic community mental health center.
